Yep, that would be me on the right, standing in one of Bombay's bigger shopping areas with my host sister .. I forget .. she was either Ume Ha'ane or Ume Aimen (not 100% sure of spellings anymore, either). While I lived with this Muslim family, we went to their temple a few times. The first time my host mom told me to put on a Burqa, I had no clue you were supposed to wear clothes underneath! Come on, I was a 16-year-old American teen who grew up in a city of 2,500 people - what did I know?
BOY was I in trouble when we arrived at the temple and my host mom noticed I was holding down the top of the thing like it was a matter of life or death! I was driven home to change and I'm fairly sure I was never forgiven.
And um, yeah. As for the hair and the glasses .. well, just look at the date stamp! :)
