Blog EntryThe beauty of movingApr 14, '08 12:35 AM
for everyone
Really, the beauty of moving comes in finding things you forgot you had.

I knew I had a stack of piano music. I just forgot how radical some of it was. Totally.

There's my piano music stack there, on the left. On the right side you see my beloved Walt Disney song book.

Candle On The Water was one of my faaaavorite songs of all time back then. It was from the movie "Pete's Dragon" ... about a boy who could see this animated dragon, but he was the ONLY one who could see it. It was classic Disney, in the same vein as things like Flubber (uh, the original one), That Darn Cat, Herbie the Lovebug and The Shaggy D.A.!

Anyway, getting back to the totally rad music.

It was awesome, and I'm sure I was awesome for playing it.

Ahh, yes. The classic piano stylings of Billy Idol and the Grateful Dead. And let's not forget Europe and Motley Crüe. Surely you remember all the piano in their music?

Haha, I laugh, but back in those days, the pop bands really DID have some keyboard in them.

But still, some of it just didn't translate to piano music very well.

Jeremy, I'm sure, regrets poking fun when he saw this gem in my stack of music.

I spared him the 2-page spread you see below.

I did not, however, spare him a phenomenal rendition of Purple Rain on the piano. It was, like, awesome. Totally.

He's just lucky I had already closed up the piano and was too tired when he decided to poke fun at THIS!

Another day, my dear.

Another day.

I'm fairly sure I have some White Lion buried in there, too. You just wait.

(get it? Huh? Wait? *sigh* Well, I know at least HEATHER will get it)

Oh, and because I just couldn't resist taking the photo before I put the lens cap on my camera, this was our dogs resting up from a long day of playing in the back yard, swimming in the fresh water in the pool, and barking at all the strange noises in the neighborhood. As you can see, we've not repaired the couch yet.

Life is good. :)
