*** I will be deleting all of my explanation up there prior to submitting my essay. I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to sneakily get more than 250 words. For the same reason, I won't be responding to the comments made on this blog (I may do so privately, but not publicly). I just want them to be able to see why other people might think I'd be good at this job, too. I plan to submit my application on Sunday, Nov. 15, so please try to respond with your thoughts prior to that day. Thank you so, so much!! :) *** | I've known Kippy since back in 2004 or 5. During this time I've read many of her blogs from light and humorous to more serious in nature. She has a way of searching out those hidden kernels and pearls that can manage to put a smile on your face despite the mood. She is one that believes in random acts of kindness and "paying it forward". Her Karma is one that that exudes her true nature of one that promotes positive and happy feelings. When I found out she was involved in this project I couldn't but want to see her win. All you have to do is visit her social site and you will see the true and caring person she is by the comments and interaction between her and her friends. So despite how this comes out she definitely gets my seal of approval. |
 | Nobody exudes happiness the way Kippy does, we see the light shine through her in every word she writes. Thanks Kippy for igniting us all in the quest for seeing the good in life first. |
 | emmm1 wrote on Nov 11, '09 I've known Kippy through her daily blog for about two and a half years now.
She is an enthusiastic person with a well rounded, practical and grounded personality who tries to see the good in any given situation.
She takes life by the throat and lives it to the fullest, making the most of anything life throws at her, be it good or bad.
Through her blog, she takes us along with her on this journey we call life.
Through her eyes we see the beauty in everyday things, uniqueness in the ordinary and marvellous in the mundane.
Most of all she shows that LIFE REALLY IS GOOD.
Through personal anecdote and reference to linked, newsworthy stories, she seeks out and finds reasons to rejoice in a life that is full of hope, joy, opportunity and wonder.
She does this in a way that invites active, intelligent discussion amongst her readership.
In a busy world that is so often saturated with grim news, despair and tragedy, her blog provides a breath of fresh air, a little oasis in the desert of a hectic life.
But don't just take my word for it. Go read it.
You'll be glad that you did. |
 | djdx wrote on Nov 11, '09 I've met Kippy recently. I appreciate the positive energy that flows from her blog. This is a way of helping us make a better world. |
 | Have you ever met someone who lives their life? Truly, honestly, lives it to the point where you're thinking, "Wow... that's how it's meant to be!" Kippy is just like that. She not only finds joy and amazement in her everyday life, and shares it with the world through her blogs and photography, but she finds joy in her friends and family. And she makes darn sure we all know just how much we're loved, appreciated, and how big of a difference we make in her world! Kippy also encourages us to make sure we let those in our world know how much we appreciate the things they do as well! Kippy, through her actions which she's shared online, has taught me how to really LIVE life and appreciate the depth of life that we have now.
She's reached out to our family, sending care packages overseas as we're military and stationed in Japan, giving us little bits of "home" to make things easier.
SO yeah... I'd have to say Kippy has definitely brightened my day. A time or 500! ;o) |
 | I've known Kippy for a couple of years through her blogs. She has a great eye for beauty, even in the most mundane things. She has a way of writing that lights up a story, and whether it is about her dogs, a sunset, or going to the store, I always have a smile on my face when I am finished reading. |
 | well Kippy has certainly helped me to feel welcomed..Thanks Kippy!
And her blogs are always so fun to read. :) |
| I have met Kippy almost a year ago through our blog writing. She stood and still stands out among others for her laughter, positive attitude and an overwhelming zest for life.
Her upbeat personality shines through in every blog she writes and she makes very sure we, her friends, know how much she loves us. Her encouragement reaches even different continents ... literally!
We are so fortunate to be part of her life with her fiancee and her dogs, her garden, her job, her kayaking, her photography ... everything resonates with fun, happiness and enthusiasm.
Kippy is on of those people who are able to brighten the dullest day, just by being who she is. I am very thankful she is in my life! |
 | i haven't known kippy for very long. in the short time i have been reading her blogs i can truly say that she is a ray of sunshine on a rainy day! i work the overnight shift, and many times when i come home i am not in the best of moods. but i can read kippy's blog, and she can make even the most routine things in her day seem special. she has an outlook on life that we all should have. she grabs every moment and turns them into something positive and uplifting.
it's been a real pleasure to get to know kippy over the past months, she has helped me to smile when things get blue, made me laugh when i thought i had nothing to laugh about, and helped me to realize that every moment in life is a moment to be happy about! |
 | bunna89 wrote on Nov 11, '09, edited on Nov 12, '09 Kippy's blog puts a smile on my face when I am down, encouragement when I want to give up and the ability to see the beauty in the nature around me. I haven't seen Kippy since June 1989. The day we graduated from high school. Her beauty and uniqueness continue to grow each year. I feel so blessed to have reconnected with her on-line. |
 | The humor and light in Kippy's words and pictures come into my life daily and never fail to make me smile and think and often just plain laugh out loud! Whether it is the joys and pains of home owning and building a stream in her back yard with her fiance and the 'help' of her dogs or watching from afar as she and Jeremy build a new life together, she makes me smile and cheer daily. Long before I heard of a 'Good Mood Blog" Kippy had one going here and I am very lucky that it affects me daily, making me stop and enjoy my life, take a moment to admire the world around me and laugh at life. She is a natural and a gift! |
 | Kippy, you brighten my day! :-) I know we are new friends... but you've put a smile on my face many times already! |
 | Your picture alone brightens my day. |
 | I happened upon Kippy just recently..I was trying to learn something new and a friend suggested ask Kippy..so I went over to her page and the first thing I see is this face smiling on the page and a slide show of photos that took my breath away..so being a little apprehensive at first cause I really dont like bothering people I commented on her photos...then I thought what the heck I will invite her to be a friend on my page....then I continued reading her blogs...oh by the time I got done with the first one I was smiling..how wonderful that is..Later she visited my page and accepted my invitation..she is the most contagious person with that smile..and when you read what she writes its like she is right smack dab in front of you talkin to you..So what can I really say...uplifting, yes, intelligent, yes, creative, yes, helpful, yes, smiling, always yes, truly amazing, yes..and definately good for a giggle..And another thing..her tutorial blogs...they are written so even someone whos mind is a mess like mine can understand how to do something. Plain easy to understand english, not lots of technical mumbo jumbo even though I know she knows all the technical stuff..and to top that off they arent boring..So this job I know she would really like to have blogging..I pray she gets it..why you might ask..cause shes the most natural antidepressant I know of to date. I see sunshine when I read her blogs and I see sunshine when I read her comments.. |
 | Kippy's motto is, "Life is Good". It shows in her photography and the writings she posts throughout the week. A phrase that fits her well is, "We shall never know all the good a simple smile can do." |
 | I didn't even know there was a Kippy until I read about her on another friend's blog, but I'm really glad I have now.
I've been coming into Kippy's blogs for the last few weeks and she's been one small ray of sunshine in an otherwise dismal world. I can even say with absolute sincerity that it is because of some of the things that Kippy has written that I've been able to get my "happy" back on track and not allow things to drag me down again.
Whether or not Kippy wins the gig, I would like to thank her for helping me find my way back to me.
She didn't know it (I guess she does now) but she helped me a lot. |
 | If you looked up the definition of "Kippy" in the Dictionary (of Positivity) you will find it means "Life is Good" which is her motto. I'm blessed to have met her and cherish the Tibetan Prayer Flags she sent me when my beloved old dog passed this year. I can't look at them without thinking of Kippy and her happy, free spirit. She's a Good Mood Blogger if there ever was one. She's my natural mood enhancer. |
 | Kippy is always friendly, helpful, upbeat and fun to talk with. Since she has become my friend I have always looked forward to her blogs. It's a nice smile to wake up to.

 | Kippy adds the 'real' to real joy and real living. She has a zest for life I have yet to encounter anywhere else. She lives life to its fullest every minute of every day. You'd think that someone like that wouldn't have much time left, but daily, she does thoughtful little (and big) things to make others smile. She finds so much beauty in the world around her. Where someone will see a desert, Kippy will find a magical world in amazing colour and detail; then she'll share it! Yes, when I want a dose of the good in life, I come to Kippy's blog : )
Thank you, Kippy, for making my world a brighter place and for your friendship that I'm so grateful for! It means the world to me. |
 | I met Kippy in a chat-room for photographers, and from the beginning, she made sense to me. Even more so when we became added friends in this international social network on Multiply. She is a truly caring and friendly person, and her love for animals, and dogs in particular, is well known for all of us. It shines through her blogs and images. She includes people in a very generous way, and makes us feel important. I doubt I have met anyone more skilled when it comes to online communication. Through images and words, she invites her readers into her life, without being too private. Her fantastic photographs add volumes to her writings and are a delight to watch.

 | Kinetic Inspiring Positive Playful Ya’know!?
Laughing Awesome Nice Karmic Empathetic Real
I have yet to meet someone who puts a positive spin on everything like Kippy does. Her effervescence and upbeat blogs always put a smile on my face. She inspires people to really stop and think a moment, question who they are and what they can change to become more rounded and postive individuals. I met Kippy online several years ago and she is one my inspirations for getting into photography and blogging. No matter how lame the question she is always ready to help and offer suggestions. Even though we have never met or spoken, I often hear her laughter on the breeze and know we would sit and chat for hours on end about nothing in particular and just because. Everyone should have, and everyone needs a Kippy in their life!!! :D |
 | "Have I ever brightened your day?"
Yes, you have! Whose day can’t be lightened up with you around, lady?!
If I had to define Kippy in a word, I’d choose joyousness but not mere joyousness; hers is contagious. be careful! It seems that anything she touches ends up shining. Yes, even everyday-life stuff, because it’s not about writing extravagantly, it’s about turning the simple things of life into the most precious moments of our existence. That’s her outlook and philosophy. And that’s why I admire her.
She’s one of those greatest bloggers you have to meet in person just to see if she’s real or a dream. She’s such an enthusiastic being, a sparkling friend, a genuinely encouraging soul; always looking for a way of making you smile. Sometimes I wonder how she does it; I mean, having gone through so much in life, it’s a delight to see her stubbornly looking at the bright side of things, as if that were her karma: to make sure life is great, in spite of everything. One of the things I like the most about her is that she makes me feel special; she makes everyone feel they’re the only person around.
I admire the power she has -I call it, magic- to turn simple situations, mundane things or silly conversations into fascinating recounts, exciting bits, dialogues that come to life because you end up thinking you were listening to her; not to mention her breath-taking phography… Hmmm I’m afraid you do more than brighten my days!
There’s only one thing I don’t like about this all… That I have to share her!!!!
!!!!
Ok, I’ll share her a bit… A little bit every week… A teeny, tiny bit per day…
OK, I’ll share her! Go see what you’re missing!

| Kippy and I go way back to the late 80’s when we both worked for a national company with offices around the country. During that time I worked in the Corporate IT department and had to initiate data transfers from the other locations. Kippy worked in the IT department one of those locations so I had to call her and all of the other locations to coordinate the modem data transfers each day. Out of the 8 or so locations, I always looked forward to the call to Kippy since she was very pleasant to talk to and was always bright and sunny, where some of the others were “not so bright and definitely not so sunny!”
Eventually the company automated the data transfers and we kind of lost touch. During the time we worked together, I learned of Kippy’s world travels to exotic places like India, how much she loved to learn about and from other cultures and what a wonderful artist she was.
About 6 to 8 years ago I was talking with some former coworkers and reminiscing about the old days when we got on the conversation regarding the characters on the other end of the data transfers. I remembered Kippy so later that day I decided to see if I could find her on the net to see what kind of an artist she had become. To my pleasant surprise, I found her. She is now the art director of a magazine and has channeled her artistic abilities into photography.
She has a wonderful eye for composition which is a talent that not many have and one that channels well into written work. Her ability to see things that others overlook or take fro granted is what sets her apart in her blogs and their content. Our initial contact was via email and then she signed up with Multiply and invited me to join. I have to say this has been a wonderful experience for me. I am self employed and while my partner is my wife, she works a 9-5+ which leaves me solo to run the business with no one to talk to or interact with for most of the day. I have plenty to keep me busy but the days are often lonely and solitary without the interaction of coworkers. This is where Kippy’s blogs have made a difference because it is MY coffee room, water cooler and lunch room all rolled up into one. It is hosted by someone with the gift of conversation who finds interest in a wide variety of topics, often which center around feel good events in her life and stories which she has heard about or read on the web. The content is short and therefore does not require much time and the blog’s ability allows for me and others to form a conversation around the subject. Kippy has many friends and quite a few of them are from other parts of the globe so in these conversations we have insight from places as far flung as The Netherlands, Brazil and South Africa. It is a polite and very pleasant place to be because Kippy has set the mood with her blog and subject matter.
It has been a real pleasure to know Kippy for all of these years, she is talented, kind, funny and insightful. She takes the time and has the ability to find material that creates conversation and has been doing so daily for a couple of years now. This has bee a personal interest, not one engaged in for business development or celebrity which means that she did not have to blog as much as she did but did so because she loves it and enjoys sharing with others.
She truly talks the talk and walks the walk of what the Good Mood Blogger is looking for.

 | Kippy is the kind of person that no matter what kind of day she's had, she'll make you smile and think positive, happy thoughts.
She has a Joie de vivre that's extremely catchy! Lots of people are optimistic, but not everyone manages to pass that on to their readers. Kippy does. A thousand times every post, she passes on her optimism and happiness to everyone else! She's a very special lady and is everything the Good Mood Blog is looking for and much, much more! |
 | "KIPPY" how can anyone say that name and not want to meet the face behind it?? It exudes happiness, which is exactly who Kippy is. Kippy finds laughter in any situation good or bad because she figures out a way to turn it into a learning experience. I have found myself to be a good listener when she has stories to tell in which each and every one always ends on a positive note.
I am honored to be her friend and personal pilates trainer. |
 | samadri wrote on Nov 15, '09, edited on Nov 15, '09 Having known Kippy for 2 or more years online, I always know the place to go to if I need an uplift or a smile. She is always able to find excerpts online to bring the good, inspiring news to the forefront, and leave the bad news behind. If someone presents Kippy with a situation needing advice? Kippy is always able to present more than one point of view for the other person! She strives hard to be fair in print and in private, and anyone who has followed her for any length of time is able to see that. Kippy also believes in living life with as much natural health as possible. You can easily find blogs from her on exercising, eating well, and living life to its fullest in nature. And last but not least, Kippy doesn't use just words to share her good mood and/or elicit a good mood in others. She can accomplish this just as easily with her photography. Good mood blogging for the heart and mind! |
 | Finding the real beauty and joy in the world only comes naturally to people that are as genuine, sincere, and down to earth as Kippy.... a truly real human being who just by sharing her pictures, words and great attitude puts smiles on so many faces and into so many hearts everyday! I am so glad our lives touched... hope to get to know her even better! |
 | Kippy was one of the first online users I met here on Multiply. A true ray of sunshine online. She always makes me smile and can make a dark cloud light /:-) An incredible positive blogger! |
 | She's honest....honestly upbeat and exactly the person you see in her blogs. I met her through her blogs late one night and was so mesmerized I had to keep reading back through them....before the night was done I'd read all of them. She's got a huge heart and I was sure I wanted her as my friend. She inspired me to have hope things in my life would be okay that night when I was feeling so down and she didn't even know me then. Since that night.. (gosh what three years ago I think)... I've been privileged to be a guest at her home for two weeks and it's just like her...peaceful, calm and filled with love and joy. If home is where friends, family and strangers alike can hang their heart, find peace and inspiration to smile... Kippy is home. |
 | I met Kippy over a internet site (photography) and although I have never met her in person, I find her to be the most loving, cheerful and uplifting person. I'm proud to call her my virtual friend and have the whole of the site people to back me on that. If she does not win this competition, then there's something wrong with the world.
This competition is not about what prize you can win or who looks the best, but who is the most honest, uplifting and best for sharing their good mood with others.... so stop the competition because you have already found your 'FEEL GOOD KIPPY'. |
