I thought it would be kind of fun to show a few photos and series of photos from last weekend's photo shoot, to show you what kinds of things happened when I wasn't getting "the shot." I took 1,200 photos in 3.5 hours, so you know there have to be a ton of "not making the cut" images. Here are some of them. :) This first series was the result of my saying, in a very high, loud voice, "pup-pup-pup-pup!" to try to get him to look at the camera. He looked at it, all right. Haha. And then he ran and tackled me and the camera. I loved it! Puppy breath and wagging tails. What could be better? Ok, so this next shot was one that I think actually turned out pretty well. This one was one of our best little models. And what he did next was absolutely hilarious: And just a couple other series: The next couple photos was one of the times, toward the end of the shoot, that Tux was getting even feistier. He decided he was gonna bark and growl at me. We were cracking up!
So, there you have it. A few of my outtakes. :) | This was awesome! I'm looking at the last picture and just cracking up. After viewing these shots, I felt like I wanted to be an animal studio photographer. This would have been the most fun of days. Any animal that is a baby, I'm a fan of. But, this blog reminded me of a confession I have so I better get crackin' on that one.
These outtakes can be turned in to profit.
The doggie with the red blanket series? Valentine's Day card that says, "When it comes right down to it, nothing is the same as snuggling with you" (as the puppy runs off). or a "missing you card, "I tried my best, but its not the same without you here."
And the next series on the black? The one with two puppies looking defeated and the other one yelling? That could totally be a humorous card about sibling rivalry, or an apology card, or something!
Hmmm...lets go in to business together. Move out here.

 | Those are so cute I need insulin! |
 | These are just GREAT! I love the series with the red blanket! Oh, I gotta say it, The're ALL great! Absolutely hilarious! I can see why you took 1200 shots! LOL (Hey Sandy, I like your ideas for greeting cards!) I'd better not let Bill see these or he's gonna' want one. :-D You must have had one hell of a day! Good think Jeremy was there to help out - I can just see you trying to take photos and the subjects all running every which way! Thanks for showing us the outtakes - it's got me grinning from ear to ear! ;D |
 | The last shot has to be my fave. I'm TOTALLY cracking up over here. Tiny... but FIERCE!!!!!!!!
*laughs* |
 | Their eyeshadow makes them look absolutely wicked. |
 | A brilliant story told in pictures, loved it. Set up my day nicely with aa smile, thank you. |
 | Awwww, as ever, the outtakes are almost better than the shots that made it! LOL Love the red blanket pictures, too cute for words! :-) |
 | Awww. What a great post to wake up and find! SO cute. |
 | pomppiduu wrote on Feb 13, '09, edited on Feb 13, '09 This is the best blog entry ever! I love it! Awww, there's nothing better than puppies. :) |
 | that last one IS out to get you! you can see it in his face! |
 | awwwwwwwwwww...I was sitting here doing that the whole time. I bet it takes some patience to deal with that many puppies at one time! |
 | CUTE--CUTE---HILARIOUS--------DID I SAY CUUUUTE? |
 | That's absolutely unfair! How come you have the best job in the world and I'm sitting here, miles away.... SIGH... HEAVY SIGH...
Kippy, what an awesome day! Highly therapeutical also; as playing with puppies is! I just loved the red basket series! It must have been totally hilarious to see him cover himself and then, running off!
How do you managed to keep them still for a shot? |
 | Thank you, everyone. haha. It really was such an awesome time. :)
Nessa, funny you mention patience, because one of the girls' moms said the same thing as they were leaving. Told me I had a lot of patience. I have to tell you, not once was I at all frustrated. I think I just love dogs and puppies so much that nothing about photographing them ever frustrates me. I couldn't possibly get upset with them for one moment for being themselves - for being puppies! However, like I told them .. had this been BABIES? I'd have been outta there looooong before. haha. Not for one minute did I ever see this shoot as a test of my patience.
Maybe it's because in-between photos I got to play with puppies, smell puppy breath, pet little tiny puppy ears? They say it lowers BP. ;)
Sandy, you have some amazing ideas. We could go into biz together .. if only you'd y'know, start marketing your work more. *ahem koff* How'm I doing? Getting you any closer? ;) |
 | I love puppies! Love the series where he pulls the blankie over himself! :) |
 | I can just feel one of those sweet things against my chest---all warm and soft. Then it pees on me. That's ok--it's warm, too. That happened when I held a baby pig----and it squealed the whole time. Wasn't as soft, either. |
 | hahahahahahahahahahhahah stop picking up pigs!! |
 | The first time I looked at this I was on the bus and killing myself laughing! It looks like loads of fun! I came back to it a few times today and it made me smile each time! Hope you get to go back soon! Did Dante and Brit go crazy when you saw them afterwads from all the puppy smells? |
 | I LOVE the out takes - they really capture the spirit of the pups! It was great fun having you and Jeremy over. Barb |
 | Katey .. they DID! We used to call it "felony petting." :) They wouldn't let me in the gate, they were sniffing so hard!
Barb, I agree .. really catches the personalities. Can you tell that Tux was my favorite? ;) They were all so sweet. I wish I'd had more time to snuggle 'em. Good luck in Russia! |
 | Great outtakes! I loved the one in the red basket getting ready for a nap and then.... But, my favorite is the last--the puppy is showing what we call in our younger huskie, the "Devil Dog" look. |
 | That's a lot of photos to sort through! They are so cute! |
 | emmm1 wrote on Feb 18, '09 Oh they are adorable. The red blanket series would make a great animated gif. |
 | Barb aren't you glad you got into Siberian Huskies? They have the greatest personalities - and they're NOT shy about it, thankfully. |
